Tour so far
10 days into tour, and everything is smooth sailing. This tour has actually been a good bit more fun then everyone was expecting. Aside from a few minor technical problems here and there, this has been a very low stress tour. The amount of gear we’re carrying has been simplified and condensed down to a single bus trailer. It’s quite nice after a year of packing full semi trucks!
Every day is an adventure with these small clubs. When I walk in, I have no idea what kind of shape the sound systems are in, and if it’s even enough for the room. I’ve gotten lucky so far, and I’ve only had a few shows where there was nothing I could do. Most shows, it’s just a matter of trying to put some life back into these tired sound systems. I’ve been pretty successful so far, and having the dolby Lake at FOH makes things easy.
This tour was originally billed as a 3 band tour, but we met some awesome dudes a few shows in, and now they’ll be joining us for the rest of the tour. The band is called “Before You Exit,” and I suggest you check them out. They’re a young group(15-17), but are very talented for their age. I’ll be doing FOH for them on a few select shows along the way.
And now for everyone’s favorite part, pictures:
