Brazil in a nutshell

I’m sitting here in our hotel room overlooking Sao Paulo as the afternoon rain begins to fall. It’s hard to believe that this trip has already come to an end. Less than 2 weeks ago we were arriving in Brazil for our first time, and had no idea what was about to happen.

This trip ended up being one of the most fun, and tiring trips I’ve ever taken with the band. Running on 4 hours of sleep or less and flying from city to city each day really put a strain on the body.  But, it was all worth it. The shows were insane, and the scenery was beautiful.

Being that it was our first time here, we all had no idea what to expect. We had no idea how the kids would react, and we had no idea how the shows would go. I was simply blown away each night. Everyone in the crowd was rocking out, jumping around and singing all the lyrics. Each show had it’s own unique atmosphere, each filled with endless energy. It was the energy at these shows that got me through this trip.

Last night’s show in Sau Paulo was the largest headlining show that ATL has ever done. 6,000 people strong. I was absolutely blown away. The energy in the crowd was unreal. It was one of my favorite shows of all time.

The cities here are some of the largest, and most populated cities I’ve ever seen in my life. The skyline of Sau Paulo wraps around miles in each direction. I’ve never seen so many buildings in such little space. It was amazing driving through the cities, watching them go from poverty, to the riches in the just a few blocks. But, not only were the cities impressive, but the countryside was a sight to see. We drove through the rolling mountains, saw the beaches and the open countryside.

Overall, I’d have to say this was one of my favorite experiences in my life, and I really can’t wait until we get another chance to come back here. Brazil has really left a lasting impression on me, and I won’t soon forget about it. But, for now, it’s back to the USA to rest up for a few weeks, and than it’s back on the road again!
